Get Ready For Cooler Weather With These Car Care Tips

Nov 1, 2021

With the sun setting earlier and the days getting shorter, it is time to start preparing your vehicle for winter driving! Your car probably isn’t all that clean after the last few months of summer bugs, bird droppings, and dry dust covering it. Fall is the perfect time to clean out your vehicle and get it ready for the oncoming winter months! Check out these car care tips for cooler weather.

Wash and Wax

Fall is the perfect time to get your car all cleaned up! You may want to pay to have your vehicle professionally detailed, or you might be looking forward to spending the afternoon using some elbow grease to wash it yourself! This seasonal chore is a good way to get rid of the sand from your days at the beach, leftover fast food and candy wrappers from road trips, and anything else that has been left in your car over the summer!

Tires

You definitely do not want to be stranded on the side of the road during an icy winter storm because of bad tires. Go ahead and check to make sure all of your tires have at least 1/8 inch of tread left and they are all up to par on air pressure. Having a good set of tires on your vehicle is the best way to make sure you and your passengers are safe while you are maneuvering icy roads this winter.

Upholstery

The seats in your car see a lot more wear and tear than you realize. Thinking of every single item that touches your seats can be overwhelming. The amount of grime, dirt, and stickiness those things consumer is ridiculous. You can wipe down your cloth seats with a little water and laundry soap. You can wipe down leather seats with special leather wipes you can find in almost any store’s automotive section.

Trunk

Your vehicle’s trunk is probably full of all sorts of summer memories – beach chairs, towels, flip flops, you name it! Now that it is getting colder, you may want to swap out those items for more weather-appropriate items, such as a pair of gloves, some blankets, and even a snow shovel.
