This past year, we have spent so much more time in our homes. Whether you have invested extra time into home projects, cooking for your friends and family, or experimenting with exercises, we have a DIY activity you are going to love. Although, the best part is it smells so delicious. Let’s be honest, there is truly nothing better than the scent of a freshly burning candle, especially lingering throughout your home. We are going to tell you how to make a homemade candle with just three simple steps. You’ll be an expert in no time!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Wax
- Wick
- Container
- Fragrance of choice
- Color of choice
- Skewers or Popsicle Sticks
- Pot
- Hot Plate or Electric Stove
Step 1: Wick it Up
First, begin by placing your wick into an appropriate vessel. For our eco-friendly friends, we suggest an empty candle holder. This allows for zero waste and less junk in your home. Convenience is always a plus!
Step 2: Things Are Heating Up
Time to crank up the heat! Using your hot plate or electric stove, heat your pot. Next, add the wax, allowing it to melt. Also, here is the fun part. Now, add your coloring and scents.

Step 3: Pour and Cool
Finally, pour the hot wax into your candle container. Now, grab your popsicle sticks or skewers, as these will keep your wick in place. Once completely cooled, you can trim the wick down to your preferred size. Now, you have a homemade candle. It is that easy. These candles make the perfect, affordable gift.
